The giant bean bag that started Lovesac4 is made in the United States, by one manufacturer in North Carolina. The couches that now bring in about 91 percent of its sales are not. Lovesac's latest annual report says its Sactionals come from suppliers in Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Taiwan and India. The company began in Salt Lake City and has been run from Stamford, Connecticut, since 2006, though it still keeps an office in St. George.

Quick answers

Who owns Lovesac?

Where are Lovesac Sactionals made

Overseas, by outside suppliers. Lovesac says it does not own or operate any manufacturing facilities and relies on third-party manufacturing partners. For the Sactionals, the modular couches, those suppliers operate in Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Taiwan and India.

That could shift a little. The same report, for the fiscal year that ended February 1, 2026, says Lovesac is developing relationships with domestic manufacturing partners for its Sactionals. It also concedes that U.S. labor costs generally exceed those of the countries it buys from now, and says it wants to reduce trade risk in a cost-neutral fashion, which is easier to write in a filing than on a factory floor.

Where are Lovesac Sacs made

In North Carolina. The report says one manufacturer there makes all the Sacs, and that this plant has had disruptions before. Sacs are the foam bean bags the company started with, and Sactionals have outsold them for years. The couches made up 91.1 percent of net sales in fiscal 2026.

Is Lovesac a Utah company

It was founded here, and it still has a foot in the state. Lovesac began with Shawn Nelson in Salt Lake City. He was 18 in 1995 when an episode of The Price Is Right gave him the idea for a bean bag that covered the whole floor, as he has told the story. Intermountain Furniture sold him scrap foam at five cents a pound, and he cut it into pieces in his parents' basement, a former ballet studio. Lovesac dates the company itself to 1998.

The company filed for Chapter 11 in January 2006 and came out of it that August. It moved its headquarters to Stamford the same year. Its annual report lists two primary offices now. Stamford has 28,000 square feet. St. George, Utah, has 10,696, on a lease that runs to September 2031.

So the honest label is founded in Utah and run from Connecticut. On the site that puts Lovesac on the Created in Utah list and on the brands that left Utah list, but not on Made in Utah.

Who owns Lovesac

Its shareholders. The Lovesac Company trades on Nasdaq under the ticker LOVE, and Nelson, now 49, is still its CEO and lead designer, according to the annual report filed in April 2026. Net sales were $697.1 million in fiscal 2026, and about two thirds came through its 278 showrooms in 45 states.

It is a long way from the Funnel of Love, the rope-hoisted contraption Nelson used to fill early sacs and later called "the worst operation you've ever seen." Today a single manufacturer in North Carolina makes the Sacs.
