When Weber and Blackstone combined in May 2025, the new company's chief executive came from the griddle side. Roger Dahle, who started Blackstone in Logan in 2008, became CEO of Weber1 Blackstone, the company that now owns both brands. The griddles themselves are not made in Utah. A 2022 filing with the SEC says they are built by several manufacturers in China and Vietnam.

Quick answers

Who owns Blackstone griddles?

Weber Blackstone, a private company formed when Weber and Blackstone combined in May 2025. Blackstone's founder, Roger Dahle, is its CEO.

Does Weber own Blackstone?

They are sister brands under one company, Weber Blackstone. Weber has been private since BDT Capital Partners bought its remaining public stock in a deal announced in December 2022.

Where are Blackstone griddles made?

By outside manufacturers in China and Vietnam, according to Blackstone's 2022 SEC filing.

Is Blackstone made in the USA?

The griddles are not. The filing says its consumables are made by U.S. manufacturers.

Where is Blackstone's headquarters?

In Cache Valley, Utah. It moved from Logan into a new building in Providence.

Who owns Blackstone now

Weber Blackstone, a private company. Weber and Blackstone announced their agreement on December 2, 2024, and the deal closed in May 2025, according to Utah State University's alumni magazine. Weber's announcement said Dahle would run the combined company and that both names would keep going to market as separate brands.

Weber was already private by then. BDT Capital Partners bought out the rest of Weber's public stock in a deal announced in December 2022 that Wikipedia puts at a total enterprise value of $3.7 billion. So there is no Blackstone stock to buy. There never was, though it came close.

In December 2021 Blackstone agreed to go public by merging with a blank check company, Ackrell SPAC Partners I, in a $900 million deal. In August 2022 Blackstone moved to end it after declining to lend Ackrell the last $200,000 the SPAC had asked for on a promissory note, SPACInsider6 reported. Less than three years later it joined Weber instead.

Is Blackstone still a Utah company

Yes. Weber's announcement said the combined company would keep a presence in both Palatine, Illinois, Weber's home, and Logan. Utah State Magazine reported in 2026 that the headquarters stayed in Cache Valley and that the team had just moved into a new building on the south end of the valley. That building is in Providence, on about 17.5 acres Blackstone already owned in 2022, and its architect lists it at 95,000 square feet.

The company started on a yellow notepad. Dahle, a 1984 Utah State marketing graduate, spent about a decade at ICON Health and Fitness in Logan before he left to start his own business. "I drew it on a yellow piece of paper on a notepad, with a pencil and a ruler," he told the magazine. He has also told investors he wanted to cook bacon and pancakes outside, which you can't do on a traditional gas or charcoal grill.

Blackstone's 2022 filing gives its legal start as May 12, 2008, as North Atlantic Imports, LLC, a Utah company that did business under the Blackstone name. The product people search for got a more memorable name than the company did.

Where are Blackstone griddles made

China and Vietnam. Blackstone doesn't own the factories. The 2022 filing says it uses outside manufacturers for everything it sells. Griddles come from several of them in China and Vietnam, and accessories from makers in China and the United States. The consumables come from manufacturers in the United States.

That arrangement goes back to the start. According to Utah State Magazine, Dahle found a factory through a sourcing contact in Asia, and roughly a year after the first sketch Blackstone was shipping griddles from China.

What Utah does is the rest of it. The 2022 filing put accounting, sales and marketing, customer support, product development and supply chain management at headquarters in Cache Valley, with three leased warehouses in Hyde Park. If you want a cooking brand that builds in Utah, the Made in Utah list is the right place to start, and Blackstone is not on it.

How big did Blackstone get before Weber

Big enough to lead its category. By the time of the 2022 filing, Blackstone said it had sold more than 6.9 million griddles in the United States since 2016 and, citing the research firm Burshek, held 80 percent of the U.S. griddle market. It also listed 28 issued U.S. patents.

That is the number that makes the merger make sense. Weber had the kettle grill, and the company from Logan had, by its own account, most of the flat tops. Dahle got the bigger chair.
