Utah grill and kitchen brands, and where each one is made

Traeger, Blackstone, Camp Chef, Blendtec, ThermoWorks and NutriMill all have Utah addresses. Here is where each one started and where its products are actually made.

The Thermapen, the thermometer sold by American Fork's ThermoWorks1,29, is built in Worthing, England, by ETI, the family company that invented it in 1992. Traeger, the pellet grill company run from Salt Lake City, was started in Oregon and builds its grills through contract factories in China and Vietnam. That is how most of Utah's grill and kitchen brands work. The design and the head office are here, and the factory is somewhere else. As of October 12, 2026, Blendtec19 is the one brand in our kitchen and grill category tagged as made in Utah. NutriMill25,26 partly qualifies.

Quick answers

Are any grills made in Utah?

Not among the grill brands we list. Traeger builds its grills through contract factories in China and Vietnam, and a 2022 SEC filing puts Blackstone's griddle production in the same two countries.

Is Blendtec made in the USA?

Yes. Blendtec designs and assembles its blenders at its plant in Orem, Utah.

Where is the ThermoWorks Thermapen made?

In Worthing, England, where ETI has built every version since inventing it in 1992. ThermoWorks is run from American Fork, Utah.

Is Camp Chef a Utah company?

Yes. It was founded in Logan in 1990 and is run from Hyde Park. Strategic Value Partners owns it through Revelyst.

Grills and griddles

Traeger moved its headquarters from Portland to Salt Lake City in 2015 and now sits in the Granary District. For about 20 years, until its patent expired in 2007, it was the only company making pellet grills. About 80 percent of its grills now come from China, and its pellets are made mostly in its own US mills. The full breakdown is in where is Traeger made.

Blackstone exists because Roger Dahle's wife didn't really like him cooking bacon in the house, as he told investors. He started the griddle company in Logan in 2008, after drawing the first griddle on a yellow notepad with a pencil and a ruler. A 2022 SEC filing puts griddle production in China and Vietnam. When Blackstone combined with Weber in May 2025, Dahle became CEO of Weber Blackstone and made keeping the headquarters in Utah part of the deal. The new headquarters, in Providence, has test kitchens. Ownership details are in who owns Blackstone griddles.

Camp Chef was founded in Logan in 1990 by Ty Measom, whose first design grew into the Pro 60 camp stove. It is run from Hyde Park. Vista Outdoor bought it in 2016 for $74 million, and Strategic Value Partners now owns it through Revelyst. In September 2026 the trade site CookOut News15 reported that Camp Chef12 was selling down its full-size grills and griddles, and read it as a sign the brand is moving back to camp cooking.

Gozney is a British pizza oven company that runs its North American business from Salt Lake City. Gozney16,17,18 says its Roccbox reaches 950 degrees Fahrenheit and cooks a pizza in under sixty seconds. The Dome (Gen 2) lists at $2,299.99 and weighs 136.7 pounds, so it helps to decide where it lives before it arrives.

Blendtec designs and assembles its blenders in a 270,000 square foot plant in Orem, behind a three-story blender built around the front entrance. Tom Dickson founded the company in 1989 and has said it took 14 years to develop blades that won't break. In 2006 the first five Will It Blend? videos went up on YouTube, made for $50, and drew six million views in six days. The founding family sold a majority stake to Wasatch Group, a Salt Lake City firm, in 2021.

NutriMill is run from St. George by L'Chef, which is also the exclusive U.S. agent for Bosch kitchen mixers. When L'Chef opened a St. George plant in 2014 to assemble the Harvest mill, its plastic parts came from Leeds, just up Interstate 15, and the company also had production overseas. The Classic has been NutriMill's best-selling mill for more than 20 years and turns out up to 20 cups of flour at a time. Returned mills get a 21-point inspection at the NutriMill factory before they are resold.

ThermoWorks started in 1997 in Randy and Suzette Owen's basement with two employees. In 2015 it moved into an 80,000 square foot headquarters in American Fork, with a test kitchen and a warehouse that can ship 5,000 packages a day. By 2016 home cooks bought two thirds of everything it sold, and Owen told Utah Business27 that "our market with home cooks was accidental." ThermoWorks has helped shape the Thermapen2 since its second generation, and it says its lab tests every new product against a thermometer precise to within 0.000027 degrees Fahrenheit, which is more precision than any brisket has asked for.

Snowie has sold shaved ice machines from Salt Lake City since Carl Rupp opened a wooden stand at 4500 South and Redwood Road in 1978. The company rates its Cube Pro at 10 to 12 cups a minute. Rupp told The Salt Lake Tribune he spent about 30 years trying to make shavers, and he put the cost at nearly $1 million in materials and patents.
