Cosset Bath & Body is a personal care brand founded in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2014. It is headquartered in South Salt Lake, Utah.
An early Cosset body butter was named after a baby. David Danzig had been mixing bath products as a hobby since 2007, and in 2013 his son George developed chronic eczema. Danzig blended butters and oils into a cream, and the company says that within a month the eczema was almost gone. He called it The George. In 2014 Danzig opened the first Cosset store at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City, where he had spent much of his childhood.
Growth came from the grocery aisle. David and his wife, Ashleigh, partnered with Utah-based Associated Food Stores on in-store bath bomb displays, and the company says it is now in more than 600 locations. The Therapy Bombs are made with essential oils, safflower oil, baking soda and salt from the Great Salt Lake.
The therapy claim is Cosset's own, summed up in the motto "Bathe With a Purpose." Corporate offices are in South Salt Lake now, and Fox 13 reported that the large bath bombs are all made by hand. The word cosset means to care for and protect in an overindulgent way, a big job for something designed to dissolve.
One Cosset Therapy Bomb, sold as The Detox and also as The Hangover, is made with tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar.
