Beehive Naturals is a personal care brand founded in Plain City, Utah, in 2012.
The Beehive Naturals online shop lists more than 50 goat milk soaps, and one of them is a shampoo bar for dogs. The goats were never meant for soap. Sam and Steph Ginn started keeping honeybees on their Plain City farm in 2012, and they added Nubian goats to meet the milk needs of four growing boys. Before long the farm was producing more than the family could use.
Steph, who had a background in hair and skin, researched uses for the extra goat milk and started handing homemade soap and lotion to friends and family. That became the business. Most of the line, though not all of it, is still handmade on the farm. There are home-brewed beer soaps too, Oatmeal Stout among them. The raw wildflower honey from the Plain City hives is never heated, and it goes through a mesh filter only once during extraction.
The Ginns still own the business. Their storefront sits on 25th Street in Ogden. A gift shop in Concourse A at the Salt Lake airport also carries the line, so the last thing you buy in Utah can be soap from goats that were only meant to keep four boys in milk.
Among the raw honeys Beehive Naturals sells is one infused with Carolina Reapers.
