TeraFlex is a vehicle and trailer brand headquartered in West Jordan, Utah. It was founded in 1996.
Before TeraFlex built a lift kit, Mark Falkner was a kid sorting army surplus in his father's yard. He remembers collecting 140,000 mufflers for MB army Jeeps, then phoning surplus traders nationwide to swap for parts the yard lacked. The yard was MEPCO, the Military Equipment Parts Company, which his father started in 1959. TeraFlex, now run from West Jordan, grew out of it.
Mark bought MEPCO from his father in the 1980s. In 1996 Jeep released the TJ Wrangler with coil springs front and rear, and no lift kit for it existed yet. So he built one. "We made it work the way we thought it should in Moab and on the highway," he said, and that fall TeraFlex started building parts in-house. The company says it was the first to engineer a suspension for the TJ, and in 2001 it added the CRD60 high pinion differential.
In 2016 Mark added Falcon shocks. Wheel Pros bought TeraFlex in 2022, and on August 21, 2026 Bestop closed a deal for TeraFlex and four other brands, Falcon among them. A company that grew out of phone trades in a surplus yard has now been traded twice since 2022.
Until roll bars became standard equipment in 1976, MEPCO trucked in a load from the Smitty Brothers in Southern California every other month and sold thousands.
