Lime Ricki is an apparel brand headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was founded in 2007.
Lime Ricki's name comes from the drink three sisters ordered at a local burger joint after summers as lifeguards and swim instructors at their local pool. In 2007 they started the Salt Lake City swimwear company with emailed announcements to friends and family.
Colette Callister had to talk her sisters into it once they all lived in the same state again as adults. The first small run of tankini tops and bottoms sold out before the end of that summer, the company says. The sisters draw their own prints, and the suits are sewn outside Utah.
In June 2018, during what is usually its best month, Lime Ricki's sales dropped. Callister estimated that about 20 companies were copying its photos and selling knockoffs. "Frustratingly, you can't really sue a company in China ever," she told BYU's Daily Universe.
Two of the sisters are cancer survivors, and Nicole Bruderer fought it three times in her twenties. In 2022 they released Flourish and Bloom, a line with a removable bra pad so a wearer can use her own prosthetic. Every order is still picked by hand in the Salt Lake City warehouse.
Lime Ricki's size run goes from XXS to 4X.
