Rockwell Time is an accessories brand headquartered in Woods Cross, Utah. It was founded in 2007.
In the movie Foxcatcher, Olympic wrestling champion Mark Schultz appears as a referee, and according to Rockwell Time founder Rich Eggett, the watch on his wrist is a Rockwell. Schultz coached Eggett at BYU. The Woods Cross watch company has a habit of ending up on people who could pin most of us in under a minute.
Eggett grew up in Bountiful and wrestled in college. On the Know Your Ship podcast he said he once entered the national freestyle championships in an Olympic year and did not score a point. "I went unscored," he said. He draws a straight line from the mat to business: you react to what the other guy does, and nobody else takes the blame when you lose.
Rockwell has sold watches since 2007. When it came time to market them, Eggett said, the company sat down with its own staff, which included a professional fighter and a pro wakeboarder, and sold to the crowds those guys already knew. It also sold to first responders and the military. Rockwell now holds licenses with branches of the armed forces, which means its factories have to be certified.
Eggett is blunt about how watches get made. There is no such thing as a watch factory unless the watch is cheap, he said, so Rockwell gathers parts from around the world. Some models are assembled in Asia and some are Swiss made. Four are now built in the United States, where the company also does its customization, because quality control is easier close to home.
The sunglasses went the other way. Eggett said a Chinese-made pair was never an option, so Rockwell draws its frames at its Northern Utah headquarters and sends the designs to Northern Italy to be handmade. Explaining the choice, he started with "Mostly because I like to go to Italy." Then he got to quality.
The watches lean large. The Coliseum Fit is a $130 digital watch with a 49mm face and a step counter, and the 50mm2 puts a Swiss-made movement inside a square-edged 50mm steel case. A KSL segment noted the company's lifetime service guarantee on top of a two-year warranty, and said all of its design work is done in house.
Rockwell also co-owns the Monster Truck Militia, which returned to the Ballard Arena in Draper in September 2025 with a Rockwell pop-up shop on site. A brand that sells 50-millimeter watches has never been accused of understatement. Co-owning a monster truck show settles the question.
KSL reported that a professional athlete once braced for an autograph request from a staring stranger, who only wanted to admire his Rockwell watch.
