Utah backpacking and camping gear
14 picks from 12 Utah brands for the trail and the campsite, from $44.95 to $1,499.
Two things on this list are sewn in Utah: the ULA pack, in Logan, and the Springbar tent, in Salt Lake City. Everything else comes from a company that started here or is run from here and has its gear made somewhere else. Where a brand's own page names the factory, the card says so.
Prices are the ones on each brand's own site on October 19, 2026. A button that goes to Amazon says "See price at Amazon," because Amazon's prices move too often to print here.

ULA has cut and sewn packs in Logan since Brian Frankle started it there in 2001, and the business only left his garage after Sally and Chris McMaster bought it in 2009. Pa'lante sewed its first 100 or so packs in a Utah basement in 2016. Most are made in Vietnam now, and the company says plainly that one should last a thru hike, not a lifetime. Outdoor Vitals started in Cedar City in 2014 on $500 of its founder's own money.
