My Medic is a camping and overland brand headquartered in North Salt Lake, Utah. It was founded in 2014.
A My Medic first aid kit is made at the company's headquarters in North Salt Lake, Utah, from supplies that its FAQ says come from the United States, Germany, Israel, Canada, China, South Africa, Mexico and the United Kingdom. That is a lot of passport stamps for one bag. My Medic has sold trauma and first aid kits since 2014, mostly straight to customers.
The company says it was born after a car accident took the life of a loved one, when a lack of equipment, a lack of training and a long wait for emergency services led to an unnecessary death. Its About page describes the goal as preparing people for the unexpected emergency, and the site sells training courses next to the gear. Every kit comes with a free online course, activated with a discount code that arrives by email after purchase.
The kits are sorted by how many people they cover. The MyFAK Mini handles two or three people, the MyFAK four or five, and the MyFAK Large five to eight, according to the company's own buying guide. Each comes in a Pro version that adds trauma supplies, and the guide is blunt about it: it says it always recommends the Pro kit. The bags carry a lifetime warranty that My Medic says covers failure even from normal wear and tear.
The business grew large enough to be bought. Acme United, a safety-products company in Shelton, Connecticut, announced on January 15, 2026 that it had acquired the assets of SLED Distribution, which does business as My Medic, for $18.7 million. Acme said My Medic had about $19 million in revenue in 2025 and 40 employees in North Salt Lake, and that it intended to keep the operations there while expanding distribution in the United States and Canada. The website's terms and privacy policy now name Acme United as the operator.
So a Utah first aid company is now a unit of a Connecticut one, though My Medic's own FAQ still gives North Salt Lake as its headquarters.
The online store has one tax detail worth knowing. Everything on it is HSA and FSA approved except some survival tools such as the Leatherman Raptor and fire starters, which is a fair line to draw.
The company says its aim is to prepare people for the unexpected emergency, and the kits built for it are made in North Salt Lake.
Acme United's 2026 announcement said My Medic has more than 500,000 followers across its social media platforms and an extensive library of training videos.
I have one of their kits, and it makes me feel ready for anything. Great company.
