Champion Safe is a hunting and archery brand headquartered in Provo, Utah. It was founded in 1999.
The company that owns Champion Safe describes the armor plate in its safes as industrial diamond bonded to tungsten steel alloy. Its SEC filing sums that up in one line: "if a drill touches it, the drill loses." Ray Crosby founded Champion in 1999, and it builds safes in Provo, where the offices and factory outlet sit on Sierra Vista Way.
The spec sheet reads like a dare. Listed features include a double plate steel door 4.5 inches thick and door bolts 1.25 inches across. Higher-end safes and vault doors are built at the Provo plant from American-made steel. Middle and value lines come from a plant in Nogales, Mexico, which at 73,659 square feet is more than three times the size of the 20,000-square-foot Provo factory.
American Rebel Holdings of Nashville bought Champion in July 2022 for $9.15 million in cash. Crosby sold the company, but two companies he owns still lease it the Provo factory and the Sierra Vista Way offices. The founder of a safe company now collects rent from it.
In 2025 safes brought in 95 percent of revenue at Champion's parent company, and beverages, meaning its American Rebel Light beer, brought in 3 percent.
