Cozy Earth is a home and furniture brand headquartered in Riverton, Utah. It was founded in 2010.
The last seat on the bus turned out to be a bale of hay, and Tyler Howells rode it for four hours through rural China. He was working backward through his supply chain, factory by factory, toward the bamboo groves. His company, Cozy Earth, is run from Riverton and sells sheets and loungewear made from bamboo viscose.
The search started on his 11th birthday, when he and his mom shopped for the softest sheets they could find. Every fabric felt the same, and they went home empty-handed. Howells, a self-described one-time surfer dude, later spent two years in Australia and became fluent in Mandarin. At BYU he was helping import wood floors when a relative's silk blanket from China got him thinking about fabric. He founded Cozy Earth in 2010 to sell bamboo bedding wholesale.
Sleep Foundation lists a 10-year warranty on the sheets and a pilling guarantee. Revenue grew 3,371 percent between 2019 and 2026, and the kid who went home empty-handed now sells more than 500 products from more than 30 suppliers in 12 countries.
It opened three stores in California in 2025. Utah, where it is run, is on its list of possible next markets.
In 2018 Oprah put Cozy Earth's Bamboo Sheets and Duvet Cover Bundle on her Favorite Things holiday gift guide.
I sleep in their bamboo sheets every night. It doesn't get much better than that.
