POC is a ski and snowboard brand founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2004. Its North American headquarters is in Park City, Utah.
POC's Park City office exists because a Salt Lake City company bought a Swedish helmet maker. Black Diamond acquired POC in 2012 and moved its North American office from Aspen, Colorado, to Park City in November 2014. Black Diamond sold POC to Investcorp in October 2015 for $65 million, nearly twice its revenue. The office stayed.
POC started in Stockholm in 2004 and says it set up a POC Lab advisory board the same day. The lab's work shows up in ski and bike helmets and, lately, an airbag vest.
The Park City office is the North American headquarters. Ben Coates came from Trek in 2018 to run it as managing director. In October 2025 POC promoted Connal Grisley to US sales manager, to put "even more focus and energy" into the US. POC USA, LLC is registered at 1755 Prospector Avenue, Suite 101.
Investcorp, based in Bahrain, still owns POC, and nothing is made in Utah. Willie Ford, POC's marketing director when the office moved, called the region "a hotbed for outdoor-enthusiast professionals." He was describing the hiring pool. Almost 12 years later the office is still there, which suggests the hiring went fine.
In 2018 POC named David DeMartini, based in its Park City office, global chief marketing and digital officer.
My POC helmet saved me when I went into a pine tree a few weeks ago. Great gear, and it looks good too.
