Skywalker Trampolines is a fitness brand founded in Brigham City, Utah, in 2005.
Of the 993 listings in Skywalker Trampolines' online store, 929 are replacement parts. A pair of 30mm end caps costs $4, and a 14 foot round jump mat is sold on its own, all 96 V-rings of it. That is the stockroom of a Brigham City company that expects its trampolines to stick around.
In August 2005 the people behind Skywalker decided they would never sell a trampoline without an enclosure net. The company still builds around a patented no-gap enclosure that, it says, interlocks with the jump mat to close off pinch points. The lineup runs from a 36 inch Eeyore toddler trampoline, which is more bounce than anyone expected from Eeyore, to a 17 foot oval.
In 2009 Skywalker Holdings recalled about 60,000 of its 13 foot square trampolines, made in China, after at least 250 reports that the straps holding the net to its poles had broken. No injuries were reported, and owners got a free repair kit. Every April the company gives away trampolines to people with autism, a cause it ties to the way therapists use jumping to help with sensory processing.
Alongside its trampolines, Skywalker sells a $1,099 batting cage under the Skywalker Sports name.
