Winchester Repeating Arms
Morgan
Winchester rifles and shotguns, run from Morgan

Twenty-one brands on this list, founded from 1866 to 1947. The Salt Lake Valley has the most of them, with 8.
Winchester Repeating Arms dates to 1866, and the brand is run from Morgan today. Burns 1876 started making harness and saddles in Loa in the year its name gives, and Utah Stories reports that the shop once did repair work for Butch Cassidy. It still builds saddles, now in Salina.
Not every name here started in Utah. Sweet Candy began in Portland, Oregon, in 1892 and moved to Salt Lake City in 1900. Hoyt made cedar arrows in St. Louis from 1931, and after the Easton family bought it in 1983 the company moved to Salt Lake City one department at a time. Others never left town. Bluebird Candy opened in Logan in 1914, and Lehi Mills made its first flour in April 1906. In 1952 that mill supplied the flour for the chicken at the first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, in Salt Lake City.
The year on each page is the founding year the company gives or the one two sources agree on. Some brands here count from an older business they grew out of, and the brand page explains which. Brands with no confirmed year are left off rather than guessed.
